Nevada's 2007 NAEP 8th Grade Writing Results 8th Grade Hispanics Make Significant Gains

Carson City, NV - April 3, 2008 - State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Keith Rheault, released Nevada's 2007 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) results for grade 8 in Writing today. NAEP, also referred to as the Nations Report Card, is a nationally representative assessment of student performance in several content areas including, but not limited to reading, mathematics, science, and writing. Nevada State Improvement Plan - 2007

Pursuant to Nevada Revised Statue 385.34691, the Nevada State Board of Education/Nevada State Board for Career and Technical Education adopted the 2007 Nevada State Improvement Plan (STIP) at their meeting on December 1, 2007.  The Board developed this Plan in consultation with key members of the educational community throughout the state.  To view the 2007 STIP, click here.

A newly revised 2008 SAGE School Improvement Guidebook will be available the first of July! The SAGE Guidebook includes processes and resources to assist schools through a continuous improvement cycle in order to strengthen the quality of instruction and increase student learning.
